TRENDS: Striped Blazer

6 Jun

Many moons ago, I purchased an H&M black and white striped jacket. It was so CHIC! and the perfect addition to any plain Jane assemblage. Just when I think I’m making fashion headlines, little miss Rihanna comes along and sports the jacket ALL THE TIME… videos, interviews, photoshoots, random LA outings. Sheesh! Anywho, Rihanna is a style icon, so we can understand why she’s peeking in the SUITE closet. Check out a few other favs from the budding trend.

We heart NAVEN Los Angeles

22 Oct

Naven began with the creative minds of Twin designers Kym and Alexis McClay. Immersed in fashion from a young age while living in North America and Europe, their fashion forward thinking and influences have been rendered in their designs.

After graduating from Pepperdine University and FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising) in Los Angeles, Kym and Alexis gained valuable experience while working in the industry. Naven was born when the twins put their fashion ideals into a tangible form and introduced their women’s contemporary line in Los Angeles in the fall of 2007. Though Naven finds its roots in Los Angeles, the line embodies touches of European influences stemming from the twin’s background.

Naven plays on a contrast between a classic and sophisticated silhouette and a young, fun and flirty style. The line highlights the beauty of the female silhouette through flattering fits while portraying empowerment and energy through bold colors, fine fabrics, and an edgy take on the classic form.

Kay Dane Clothing in CITY Magazine

13 Jul

Check out our client Kay Dane clothing in CITYist Magazine.

Los Angeles-based brand Kay Dane is made of leopard prints, padded shoulders and a whole lot of swagger. Imagine Beyoncé’s character in Austin Powers, except this line counts another another former Destiny’s Child member, Kelly Rowland, as a fan. Drawing heavily from the 70s and 80s, the emerald green “airplane tunic” or skin-tight leopard pants and matching crop top will have you ready for the disco or your next B movie chase scene. Check out and shop the collection at Kaye Dane’s new site. What’s fashion without a little fantasy, any way?
